If my heart had wings
It would fly to You
But instead it’s within me
All broken and blue

I’ve let the enemy slip in,
The door open wide,
I’m tired and weak
Satan’s at my side

Thoughts of destruction
Anger and pain
Take over my mind
Make me insane

I reach for Your Word
And start to drink nectar
It refreshes my spirit
And banishes the spectre

How could I forget
That You are the fountain!
I’m not in the valley -
I’m climbing that mountain

You are a ray of sunshine
Piercing the darkness
I’m walking with You
Gone is my distress!

I must walk in faith
Not in sight
Trust in You always
And all of Your might

Lord you are awesome
You have lifted my load
We’re walking together
Along the right road

Lord forgive me for stumbling
And let me never forget
That You are my Saviour
Who cancelled my debt
