“Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Proverbs 16:24 NIV |
An Ode To My Husband
On the day I first met you,
It was an odd place to meet
You were sat in a pew
But give God his due
A spark was ignited
And I was delighted
To have made a new friend
But that’s not where it ends
We went for a coffee
Or was it a tea?
We then started golfing
So another type of tee!
Food was a focus
A favourite for us
Breakfast before church
Or lunch was a plus!
Days out were our dates
And we became mates
Wisley and West Wittering
Both sealed our fate!
We had a great time
There was no need to mime
We laughed and we chatted
And our pulse rates did climb!
You then changed my life
Asked me to be your wife
We bought a fine ring
And my heart it did sing
The rest is history,
But just the start of our story
The future is exciting
So give God the glory.
When I least expected,
And was sorely dejected,
I met my true soul mate,
And my life was resurrected
So a toast to my husband
Who has taken my hand
Here’s to the future!
And whatever ‘he up there’ has planned!
To the love of my life, Saroj.
